I am Head of IT Operations at CCI Global, leading multi-country infrastructure, IT governance and information security across Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Egypt. I own technology strategy, team structure, a KSh 40-60M monthly IT budget (about US$4.5M a year) and the vendor portfolio for an estate of 8,000+ endpoints, three enterprise data centres, a 100+ engineer organisation and 35 global enterprise clients.
My work sits where engineering meets the business: translating growth targets into funded infrastructure plans, driving PCI-DSS, SOC 2 Type II, COBIT, ITIL and King IV assurance, and reporting to executives and the board. I designed and run a resilient multi-site global network (Tier 1 DIA, MPLS, HPE Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN, Dark Fibre / Eline L2VPN) that delivered 99.95% average client uptime, cut revenue lost to downtime by 92% in six months, scaled the engineering team 100% in 12 months, and directed the build of three data centres supporting up to 10,000 agents per site.
I also founded the internal IT Academy, which pairs every engineer with a mentor and a certification roadmap tied to promotion. Earlier I led infrastructure, cloud and OT/IT security at Kapa Oil Refineries, including PLC and IoT/OT automation rollouts at three international plant installations and an AWS migration with Docker and Kubernetes.
Fourteen years in IT, the last decade in management, and still hands-on with the technology. I am looking for a Head of IT, Director of Technology or CTO mandate in a multi-market, regulated operating environment.
