Mairoby Vargas

I am a passionate health sciences student currently pursuing my B.S. in Health Sciences with a specialization in Clinical Science. My journey began with an A.S. in General Studies, which laid the foundation for my understanding of health and nutrition. I have a strong commitment to promoting healthy eating and food safety, which I have developed through my work experience in various roles.

At D’amico & Sons Italian Market and Bakery, I honed my skills in food handling, nutrition labeling, and portion control while working in a family-owned restaurant. I take pride in preparing fresh, whole foods from scratch and ensuring that all food services meet the highest quality standards. My role involves assisting the chef with food preparation and plating, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean workspace, all while adhering to strict food safety guidelines.

Additionally, my experience as a Bridge Coach for the New York City Department of Education allowed me to support students in their academic journeys. I provided counseling, created individualized academic plans, and helped students access resources for their success. I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences in a role that allows me to contribute to health and wellness.
