Maira Khaleel
@mairakhaleel
Materials scientist focused on sustainable recycling and scalable green-energy solutions.
What I'm looking for
I am a materials science and engineering undergraduate specializing in recycling crystalline silicon solar panels and developing sustainable materials. I bridge laboratory research with practical applications to advance circular-economy solutions.
My research at the Nanomaterials for Advanced Energy Applications Lab emphasizes nanomaterials, advanced characterization techniques, and quality assurance to transform waste into opportunity. I have contributed to projects targeting scalable processes for solar-panel waste management.
I have presented at international conferences, contributed to a book chapter on nano-enabled coatings (submitted to Springer Nature), and completed an internship at the National Center of Failure Analysis. I have also led protocols and teams at academic conferences and competitions, earning awards for commercial project work.
I engage in continual technical training—BET analysis, FTIR, AFM, mechanical and non-destructive testing—and participate in professional networks such as Material Advantage to expand my impact in sustainable energy materials.
