Aspiring school counselor dedicated to student support and development.
What I'm looking for
I am a passionate and dedicated aspiring school counselor currently pursuing my Master of Education in Counselor Education with a focus on School Counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University. With a GPA of 4.0, I have developed a strong foundation in counseling principles and practices. My educational background in psychology, complemented by hands-on experience in various counseling roles, has equipped me with the skills necessary to support students' academic and emotional needs effectively.
Throughout my internships at Glen Lea Elementary School and Tuckahoe Middle School, I have completed over 700 hours of direct and indirect counseling services. I have facilitated individual and group counseling sessions, delivered classroom lessons, and collaborated with educators and families to create a supportive environment for students. My volunteer work as a Crisis Counselor has further honed my crisis intervention skills, allowing me to provide empathetic support to individuals in distress.
As a member of professional organizations such as Chi Sigma Iota and Psi Chi, I actively engage in initiatives that enhance my professional knowledge and contribute to the field of counseling. I am committed to advocating for students' social-emotional needs and fostering a positive school climate.
