Maggie Brookman

I’m an experienced early childhood educator with 7+ years designing developmentally appropriate instruction and assessments. I earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Virginia, with research focused on the Science of Reading and early literacy learning progressions.

Since July 2021, I’ve worked as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, designing and implementing early literacy and foundational math lessons using evidence-based instructional practices. I develop and administer internally aligned assessments to monitor student progress and inform differentiated instruction, including phonological awareness, phoneme blending, and foundational reading skills.

I’m especially proud of creating a structured learning environment that supports engagement and independence while fostering positive relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and community involvement. Previously, as a Lead Infant Teacher, I ensured a safe and clean learning environment and provided nurturing care addressing infants’ physical and emotional needs.
