I hold a Ph.D. in History and have held postdoctoral and policy fellowships at leading institutions, published in Slavic Review, and completed archival and fieldwork in Russia and Azerbaijan.
I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on the Soviet Union and comparative history, train students in social and oral history methods, and present regularly at international conferences.
