Lucía De Stefano
@lucadestefano
Data Scientist and environmental scientist leveraging spatio-temporal modeling and satellite remote sensing to drive water sustainability insights.
What I'm looking for
I’m an Environmental scientist with a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and 9+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, data modeling, and scientific communication. I extract insights from complex environmental datasets and translate technical findings into actionable reports and strategic recommendations.
In my current role as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CONICET (2023–Present), I conduct spatio-temporal analysis of surface water temperature using multi-decadal satellite datasets. I develop statistical and predictive models for environmental trends and risk assessment, and I collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across environmental and data science domains.
Previously, as a Doctoral Researcher (CONICET, 2017–2023), I led independent research projects, applied remote sensing and statistical modeling to freshwater environmental challenges, and communicated results to both technical and non-technical audiences. I’m comfortable moving from analysis to deliverables—peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and conference presentations.
I’m deeply committed to water sustainability and conservation—ideally positioned to support watershed investment program design within TNC’s Nature for Water Facility. My approach blends advanced analytics (including machine learning and time-aware modeling) with stakeholder-oriented communication to ensure the work is decision-ready.
