Laura Howie
@laurahowie
Compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner and experienced inpatient RN returning to patient care.
What I'm looking for
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and registered nurse with over 12 years of clinical nursing experience across inpatient and retail health settings. I have served as a charge nurse, assistant manager, and Family Nurse Practitioner, developing strengths in assessment, diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.
My inpatient background at CMC-Northeast includes leadership roles, involvement in Magnet recertification, shared governance participation, and close collaboration with case managers and physicians to optimize patient outcomes. In retail health I gained practical experience with medical coding, billing, and insurance practices while delivering family-focused primary care.
After a career pause for family and health reasons, I bring renewed empathy, resilience, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. I am motivated to apply my clinical skills, leadership experience, and advanced education to improve health outcomes for patients.
