Kristin Wheeler

I am an Exercise Physiologist with cardiac and pulmonary rehab experience, focused on delivering safe, effective exercise programs grounded in evidence-based practice. I combine exercise testing with close clinical monitoring so patients can recover with confidence.

In my current role at Merit Health Work Well (Hattiesburg), I conduct cardiac stress tests using treadmill/exercise while monitoring patient vitals and symptoms. I also perform and interpret resting electrocardiograms (EKGs), administer drug and alcohol screenings per guidelines, and complete pre-employment, DOT, and annual physical examinations while documenting patient medical histories and vital signs.

Earlier, as an Intern at LiveWell Center (Hattiesburg), I performed manual blood pressure assessments and carried out initial and post-program fitness evaluations for cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients. I connected patients to EKG monitors, monitored real-time heart activity during exercise sessions, and supported safe progression by orienting patients to equipment and guiding appropriate workloads.
