I’m a results-driven Database Administrator with a First-Class Honours degree in Computer Science from Babcock University, and hands-on production experience managing relational databases at scale. I focus on dependable, correct systems—ensuring ACID compliance while optimizing for real-world performance.

In my current remote role at ACAD AI, I maintain and monitor production PostgreSQL and MySQL across AWS RDS and GCP CloudSQL, sustaining 99.9%+ uptime and full ACID compliance. I’ve reduced average API query response time by ~40% by diagnosing N+1 query patterns and missing index issues, then driving indexing strategies and schema migrations without downtime.

I also automate routine operational work using Bash shell scripting for backup, health-check, and alerting workflows, cutting DBA overhead by several hours per week. To support modern architectures, I integrated Apache Kafka for event-driven data pipelines, collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot integration issues with cloud-managed database endpoints.

Before specializing in databases, I built a strong networking and systems foundation: I worked as a Junior Network Engineer at Nigeria LNG in a Cisco DNAC environment, and I completed 42 Berlin’s Piscine for C programming and algorithms, strengthening my systems-level thinking.
