At STAR AI Inc., I estimate the causal effects of telecom coupon campaigns and apply NLP to insurance survey responses to surface customer insights. I also run client AI projects from problem framing through modeling and reporting, and mentor junior staff in statistical analysis.
At Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., I developed traffic-volume prediction for government clients and built arrival-time prediction and dashcam image-analysis systems for automotive applications. I also forecast electricity demand and prices and proposed energy management systems for power utilities.
As a contract Machine Learning Engineer at SO Technologies Inc. and INTAGE Inc., I built and improved ad prediction and optimization models, and developed a system that scores ad appeal from images. My work combined NLP and image analysis with tools including Keras, PyTorch, LightGBM, and Google Cloud Platform.
My research and earlier work include causal inference, econometrics, and spatial machine learning, alongside regional studies research at Osaka University. I hold an M.S. in Informatics from Kyoto University and an M.A. in Economics from Osaka University, and bring together econometric methods and machine learning in projects across telecom, insurance, advertising, and automotive.
