Consultant physician and clinical leader advancing preventive cardiovascular care through research and education.
What I'm looking for
I am a Consultant Physician and clinical leader with over a decade of experience in General Internal Medicine and acute care medicine, leading consultant-led care for complex acute and chronic conditions in referral settings. I focus on cardiovascular disease prevention, hypertension management, diabetes mellitus care, dyslipidaemia management, and multimorbidity, while building systems that improve outcomes in resource-constrained environments.
At Monze Mission Hospital, I serve as Head of Internal Medicine, providing clinical oversight for inpatient and outpatient adult medicine for an estimated catchment population of approximately 800,000 people. I established and operationalized the first Cardiometabolic Risk Clinic, led implementation of WHO HEARTS-based cardiovascular disease prevention strategies within routine clinical practice, and drive quality improvement through clinical governance, mortality reviews, and evidence-based care pathways.
I also lead as an academic clinician-scientist, currently completing a PhD in Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine through the University of Zambia–Vanderbilt University Partnership (2023–2026). My research centers on subclinical cardiovascular disease, myocardial remodeling, cardiovascular imaging, biomarkers, and implementation science, and I contribute through scientific writing, evidence synthesis, and international collaborations—supported by NIH D43 funding and peer-reviewed publications.
