Karsen Castellow
@karsencastellow
Case management and advocacy professional focused on child welfare and trauma recovery.
What I'm looking for
I’m a social services and advocacy professional who supports vulnerable individuals through client assessments, crisis intervention, and individualized service plans. In my Emergency Human Services Assistant and Family Services Specialist roles, I collaborate with social workers, coordinate community resources, and maintain accurate case documentation to meet state and federal requirements.
I also provide direct survivor support as a Sexual Violence Victim Advocate, responding to crisis hotline calls with emotional support, safety planning, and resource referrals. I accompany survivors to hospitals for forensic exams, helping ensure their rights and preferences are respected while maintaining a trauma-informed, compassionate approach.
Alongside my advocacy work, I complete clinical responsibilities as a Clinical Intern by conducting individual therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities, including Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT, and CPT. I manage an independent caseload with intakes, treatment planning, progress notes, and ongoing therapeutic interventions in a trauma-informed clinical setting.
I’m driven by child welfare policy, child advocacy, family preservation, and prevention-focused work. Through my involvement in Alpha Kappa Delta, Sociology Club, and Preventing Child Abuse Club, I’ve built a strong foundation in sociological issues and how to translate that understanding into real-world support.
