Julius Aries Kanneh, Jr
@juliusarieskannehjr
Full-stack software engineer building mobile, IoT, and community impact in Rwanda.
What I'm looking for
I’m a full-stack software engineer who builds and ships production products with real users, from mobile applications to embedded systems and IoT research deployed in the field. I focus on turning technical ideas into reliable software people actually use.
Right now, I’m leading full-stack development at A2SV and co-running GDG Kigali under a formal agreement with Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation. Alongside shipping work, I’m committed to building strong engineering practices—architecture, CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and systematic code review—so teams can move fast without breaking quality.
My background blends mobile development, embedded systems, and robotics: I’ve worked as an Embedded Systems Software Engineer at Kwaanda Labs, supported teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for embedded systems and IoT, and completed research as a Graduate Research Assistant for an ML-based bird detection and repellent system with remote OTA updates. I’m also completing an M.Sc. at Carnegie Mellon University Africa, specializing in Embedded Systems Software Engineering & Robotics, graduating May 2026.
