I'm looking for a full-time remote role at a structural engineering firm or AEC tech company where I can contribute to real structural design work while growing toward the intersection of engineering and software. I value technical depth, a collaborative team, and an environment where building tools is as valued as using them.
Juan Manuel Orozco Henao
@juanorozcohenao
Junior Structural Engineer supporting structural design and engineering computation workflows.
What I'm looking for
I'm a civil and structural engineer based in Cali, Colombia, with a background that sits at the intersection of structural design practice, research, and software automation.
In professional practice at Ingescon S.A.S., I've delivered +50 structural projects — reinforced concrete frames, steel moment and braced frames, and seismic design under NSR-10, AISC 360, and ACI 318.
Before practice, I spent 2.5 years as a researcher at the G-7 Research Group of Universidad del Valle, applying Digital Image Correlation (DIC) with VIC-3D and Bayesian inference with PyMC to the mechanical characterization of concrete and reinforcing steel. A paper from that work is currently under review at ACI Structural Journal, and I presented at the XI National Congress of Seismic Engineering in Colombia in 2024.
I'm currently completing a postgraduate specialization in structural engineering, finishing in December 2026.
What I'm looking for is a remote role where structural engineering domain knowledge and programming come together — whether that's at a structural engineering software company, an AEC tech startup, or a firm that values engineers who can also build tools. I'm drawn to environments where I can contribute to real design work while growing toward the intersection of structural engineering and AI.
English is my professional working language. I'm available full-time, aligned with US East Coast hours, and ready to contribute from day one.
