Justin Murphy

I have 5 years of experience in retail, including 4 years as a Department Head. In that role, I manage day-to-day operations, inventory, and team coordination in a high-volume environment. I also co-chair my workplace's Occupational Health & Safety Committee, where I identify hazards, document them formally, and follow through on getting them fixed.

Outside of work, I'm a self-taught builder of software tools. I don't write code by hand — I design the systems, work out the logic and math behind how they should function, and direct AI tools to build the implementation. Then I test everything myself, find what's broken, and refine it through multiple rounds until it works the way it should. I've built a browser-based game with its own save system and engine, a wellness and skill-tracking tool designed around accessibility, and a writing tool that condenses text while preserving the original voice.

I'm reliable, detail-oriented, and good at staying calm and consistent under pressure — traits I've built through years of running a department and handling safety issues that require a level head. I'm looking to move further into tech, particularly QA and systems/testing roles, where my instinct for catching what's broken is the most directly useful.
