Joseph Ogutu
@josephogutu
Software engineer at Stratnovo building full-stack AI applications, including Rumia, RumiaRent and ValidBridge.
KenyaWhat I'm looking for
At Stratnovo, I lead architecture, development, testing and deployment for full-stack software and AI-enabled applications, including Rumia, RumiaRent and ValidBridge. I turn business requirements into technical architectures and implementation plans, then document the decisions behind them.
At Data Breed Africa, I built Astral Aviation’s training governance and compliance system, with role-based access across five user roles and tools for document verification, KPIs and corrective actions. I also maintain The Flying Decksman, a Django and Next.js music streaming platform, and resolved a production 502 outage caused by stale Docker DNS caching.
At Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network (KEWASNET), I built web applications and an AI-enabled organisational knowledge assistant using LLM APIs, LangChain, LangGraph and MCP. My background as a Technical Writer at Nairobi DevOps also informs how I explain technical choices; I’m looking to apply that experience to evaluating AI-generated code and building rigorous engineering problems.
