Joaninha Dias

I’m a motivated graduate in English Language and Linguistics with experience in teaching, translation, and interpretation across academic and community settings in Timor-Leste.

My background includes an academic dissertation comparing the position of elements of complete sentences on the adverbs of time between Fataluku and English, and I’ve supported learning through workshop and service-learning activities focused on education and peace.

In my teaching roles, I formulate unit outlines, evolve lesson plans and teaching aids, maintain classroom management, and design assessment aligned to student achievement. I use student-centered, cooperative learning approaches and support core skills including writing, listening, and speaking.

I also contribute as a Language Support Assistant and Translator/Interpreter through USAID-related work and local institutions, strengthening cross-cultural communication. I bring strong digital skills and a clear commitment to advancing education and social development in Timor-Leste while seeking opportunities to further strengthen my expertise.
