What I'm looking for

I'm looking to apply my deep learning and computer vision research experience to applied biomedical AI, especially multimodal medical imaging and surgical video understanding, while continuing to grow through rigorous research and collaboration.

I co-developed CARDIUM at Universidad de los Andes, combining fetal echocardiography images and maternal clinical data to detect congenital heart disease. Our model achieved an F1 score of 79.8% ± 4.8%, improving detection by 11% over image-only and 50% over tabular-only baselines, and was published at the ICCV 2025 CVAMD Workshop.

For my master's thesis, I designed KeyLaTCVS, a gated latent-query transformer for laparoscopic surgical video assessment that improved macro mAP by 11.7 points over the published baseline while reducing temporal-model complexity roughly 18-fold. I work across architecture design, preprocessing, validation, and error analysis in PyTorch, and I also support computer vision students as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
