James Willis
@jameswillis
Engineering student focused on DevOps and Java, delivering value with hands-on software workflows.
What I'm looking for
I’m an engineering student and maker-space assistant who brings hands-on software development experience and DevOps workflows to real projects. I’m at my best when I can turn technical ideas into working systems and clear, reliable documentation.
In my maker-space role, I design and deliver tailored STEM training while keeping complex fabrication platforms running with high uptime through comprehensive technical documentation and procedures. I also use SQL and database connectivity to query and manage inventory records, and I analyze user engagement metrics to improve scheduling and resource allocation.
I’m known for teaching impact, earning a four-time YODA Award and recognition for outstanding student employment, alongside earlier experience designing structured communication training programs. I’m now seeking a junior Java/DevOps role where I can apply my project experience, ship value from day one, and keep improving through feedback and rigorous testing.
