Unique Item Identifier Technician who delivers accurate IUID execution and safe, efficient depot operations.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Unique Item Identifier Technician, responsible for planning, controlling, and executing Item Unique Identification (IUID) functions tied to creation of identification plates IAW MIL-STD-130. I upload information into A2B IUID software to the Global IUID Registry, ensuring accuracy and proper identification across programs. I also support production readiness by applying graphic arts and process methods to produce ID tags, signs, and decals.
In addition to IUID, I’m an HSE-focused teammate who supports safety and compliance. I’ve written job safety analysis for the division, served on the HSE board discussing safety health and environment issues, and helped shops prepare for VPP audits while ensuring PPE is worn and working properly. I also acted as a Safety Officer through Hazwoper and forklift/tow motor safety responsibilities.
I bring experience running end-to-end parts and material expediting for depot-level maintenance. I requisition, receive, verify, identify, classify condition, store, inventory, and decide on interchangeable or substitute items to keep production moving. I use automated systems (UNIX Parts Shortage System, Maintenance Shop Floor Module of SDS, CAPS, CD-Fiche, Haystack, and Fed-Log) plus Microsoft Office/Excel to manage suspense lists, follow-ups, and reconciliation reporting.
I’m hands-on with manufacturing and repair work as well, including auto body and welding. I’ve performed sandblasting, auto painting (prime/intermediate/finish), and welding using electric/acetylene and MIG, along with hazardous material handling and proper storage/disposal practices. I also support continuous improvement with Lean process mapping, OSHA training, CDSO safety course work, and 5S improvements to maintain a cleaner, safer shop.
