Isabel Nunez
@isabelnunez
Experienced coral reef scientist and project leader driving interdisciplinary restoration and conservation.
What I'm looking for
I am a resourceful researcher and project manager with over 15 years leading interdisciplinary coral reef conservation, restoration, and monitoring initiatives across the Indo-Pacific, Caribbean and global partnerships.
I have led National Geographic and IUCN projects as Principal Investigator and Expedition Lead, securing funding, permits and coordinating multi-stakeholder field programs that integrate scientific and local knowledge.
My technical expertise spans coral physiology, cryopreservation, photogrammetry, remote sensing, carbonate budgeting, and development of monitoring frameworks and SOPs, supported by publications and workshop contributions.
I mentor students, design capacity-building programs, and build collaborative networks with universities, NGOs, traditional owners and government agencies to translate science into actionable conservation outcomes.
