At CAPE FEAR VALLEY HEALTH SYSTEM, I led enterprise HIM regulatory functions across a multi-hospital system. I authored 15 enterprise policies and improved behavioral health release approval turnaround from 25 days to 5 days by addressing state confidentiality requirements, revising authorization language, and educating physicians and staff.
As Corporate Health Information Management (HIM) Operations Manager at STEWARD HEALTH CARE, I provided regulatory and operational oversight across 18 hospitals in six states. I partnered with Steward’s President on physician documentation contributing to $11M DNFB and helped prioritize 30 physicians by risk and financial impact.
Earlier, I directed HIM operations at hospitals and an academic medical center, including serving as a Privacy Officer. I investigated privacy and disclosure incidents, assessed breach risk, and developed practical corrective actions to strengthen compliance and protect record integrity.
