I'm a Senior Platform Engineer with 15 years across infrastructure, backend, and team leadership, based in Montevideo, Uruguay (UTC-3), with years of fully remote, async work with US teams.

Currently I'm the technical lead of a DevOps team of 6 to 10 engineers at Canoe Intelligence, a US fintech whose platform parses millions of private-equity documents per month. I own the AWS platform end to end. Highlights: I designed the load-testing framework that validates sustained throughput of 100k documents per hour with spikes of 15k per minute, and made it self-service so product teams run it before every peak period. I decomposed a monolithic Terraform codebase into shared modules plus around 10 per-service repositories. I was platform lead for a greenfield product with multi-tenant Auth0 authorization, SAML SSO onboarding, and an API gateway fronting 8 microservices. I also built an ephemeral-environments system that spins up a production mirror for any labeled pull request, which engineers, QA, and even designers now use daily.

Before that I was a full-stack engineer at Coral, building a real-estate investment platform in TypeScript, React, and Node on GCP, where I built the ACH payment infrastructure for investor distributions on top of Dwolla. Earlier I led an 8-person R&D team at Conatel building cloud-native products on AWS for industrial and retail clients.

My interests sit at the intersection of infrastructure and AI. I contribute to open-source LLM tooling (Charmbracelet mods), wrote llm-stream, a Rust CLI for working with LLM providers from the terminal, and build MCP servers and agent skills that give AI systems embedded knowledge of infrastructure for troubleshooting. I've moved through Ruby, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, and Rust out of curiosity about how each one thinks.

I also taught: professor of computer networks at Universidad ORT and instructor of my own cloud computing courses. I hold an MBA. I'm looking for platform, infrastructure, or backend roles where AI-augmented engineering is welcomed
