What I'm looking for
I’m a Microbiologist (Ph.D., Microbiology and Plant Pathology) with seventeen years at the bench across microbiology, molecular biology, and genomics. My work spans CRISPR/Cas9 system development, sequencing workflow design, and production-strain engineering, including host and pathway strategies that translate into measurable titer gains and publishable results.
I’ve also built my reputation around reproducibility and mentorship: I was Instructor of Record for a 239-student upper-division Microbiology course at UC Riverside, and I’ve taught lecture and lab across six quarters. Across industry and academia, I lead technical development (including whole-genome sequencing validation and detailed NGS workflows), and I give researchers “line-level written feedback” while authoring methods resources—grounded in peer-reviewed literature (Nature Nanotechnology, ACS Nano) and a published video protocol.

Led the host strain engineering team to push an antibody production host past a 10x titer target using recombineering, multi-gene knockout screens, and iterative fermentation. Confirmed intended edits and identified secondary mutations using whole genome sequencing, and summarized findings for non-molecular biologists.
Built nanoparticle-mediated gene delivery systems for plant and algal chloroplasts, validated via confocal microscopy and quantitative mRNA expression analysis.
