At Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture, I led the design and development of the Livestock Identification and Traceability System (LITS), linked to vaccination, surveillance, disease prevention, dairy production, contract farming, collateral lending, and insurance systems.
Through international consultancy work with FAO, USAID, AU-IBAR, the World Bank, the European Union, Wageningen University, ENTAG, and CDAIS, I developed national strategies, legal frameworks, regulations, guidelines, and procedures. I also translated technical policy documents into Amharic for distribution to stakeholders nationwide.
I contributed to Ethiopia’s National One Health Strategy as a member of the One Health Steering Committee and the One Health Governance, Leadership and Coordination group. As a Certified National Innovation Facilitator with CDAIS, I was selected for a globally recognized success story presented at the 2017 TAP/CDAIS Global Meeting.
