George Britton
@georgebritton
Senior Unreal Engine programmer delivering gameplay systems, real-time tech, and tooling across studios.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Unreal Engine Programmer with AAA and indie UE5 experience, focused on delivering gameplay systems that perform reliably and integrate cleanly in cross-studio environments. I bring a strong foundation in C++ and real-time systems, and I’m especially drawn to building the tooling and reusable patterns that help teams move faster.
In my current role, I own gameplay and world subsystems, lead advanced programming and real-time systems modules, and help align cross-studio workflows around performance and standards. I mentor programmers and designers—improving onboarding and code quality—while contributing to architectural decisions for scalability and maintainability.
I also enjoy applied research and experimentation, including AI and procedural generation. Previously, I authored gameplay and backend subsystems using UE4 with C++ and Blueprints, architected spatial audio and online multiplayer, and maintained gameplay features in close communication with clients to preserve design intent. I’ve integrated iOS and Android platform services (including Game Center and Google Play APIs), and I built systems like procedural generation for endless-runner gameplay.
Beyond games, I’ve contributed to cybersecurity and safe operating practices: I authored bespoke guidance on data security, led clients through common attack vectors, and helped teams implement updated design specifications. I’m an Epic Games Unreal Authorised Instructor and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and I’ve taught and conducted research in game AI and procedural generation—bringing a clear, mentorship-first approach to technical leadership.
