What I'm looking for
I am a dedicated educator currently pursuing my M.S. in Literacy Education at the State University of New York at New Paltz. With a strong academic background, including a Bachelor of Arts in Education & Child Study from Smith College, I have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.92. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a positive learning environment and adapting instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Throughout my teaching experiences, I have implemented various curricula and instructional strategies, including the Fundations and EnVisions math programs. My role as a per diem substitute teacher at Commack Public Schools has allowed me to develop effective classroom management skills and communicate progress with staff and families. I have also engaged in student teaching at Smith College Campus School, where I utilized a backward design model to enhance literacy and math instruction, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive.
In addition to my teaching experiences, I have been actively involved in athletics as a co-captain of the Smith College Varsity Lacrosse team, where I honed my leadership and teamwork skills. I am committed to continuous professional growth and am eager to contribute to a school community that values collaboration and student success.
