What I'm looking for

I’m looking to co-create practical, inclusive solutions for refugee and displaced youth—especially urban youth—so their access to education and employment improves. I want to serve on a board where lived experience meaningfully shapes strategy.

I am a young urban refugee who is deeply motivated to contribute my voice and lived experience to initiatives that directly impact refugee and displaced youth across Africa. I focus on transforming the challenges of displacement into opportunities for leadership and systemic change, with a strong commitment to inclusive guidance grounded in real barriers.

My relevant experience is rooted in active engagement within the refugee community in Jewi refugees camp and in urban settings. I have demonstrated leadership in Gambella University, volunteering for five years as an HIV/AIDS and Anti-Drug group leader, facilitating educational workshops with a local refugee-led organization, and serving as a peer mentor for newly arrived youth. I am also a member of Kepler, a non-profit higher education program serving vulnerable youth and refugees in Ethiopia, which has strengthened my communication, advocacy, and teamwork—aligning with my goal to support economic inclusion and dignified work for displaced youth.
