I’m a COBOL / Unix Systems Developer with 20+ years of enterprise application development, testing, troubleshooting, on-call support, and production support experience. I’ve built and maintained high-volume batch processing logic for payroll, tax, reporting, and business-processing systems—focused on reliability, data validation, exception handling, and system output workflows.
In scheduled on-call support during quarterly and year-end processing cycles, I respond to urgent payroll branch calls, triage issues by reviewing job output, COBOL logic, data files, SQL results, database values, and system logs, and help restore accurate processing. I use SQL with Oracle and Informix for data retrieval, validation, updates, reporting, and production issue resolution.
I bring a strong legacy modernization foundation—able to translate long-term COBOL, Unix, SQL, XML, and batch-processing experience into Micro Focus COBOL/Linux environments. I’m comfortable with CICS/JCL concepts, Oracle 10g/11g, Red Hat Linux, Korn shell scripting, and structured integration patterns (XML, SOAP/REST, web services, microservices), and I work with cross-functional teams to implement application changes and reduce recurring defects.
