Festus kipyegon Rono

I’m a Registered Nurse with a valid license and clinical nursing experience, focused on preparing competency development through learner-centered instruction and nursing education. I develop prepared lesson plans and instructional resources, evaluate learners through continuous formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to support student mentorship.

In my teaching roles, I facilitate classroom and skills-based instruction for student nurses in accordance with the approved nursing education curriculum. I guide students to integrate theoretical knowledge with safe, evidence-informed clinical practice through demonstrations, simulation exercises, and supervised return demonstrations, while encouraging critical thinking and professional accountability.

As a student mentor during clinical placement at Migori County Referral Hospital, I supported clinical supervision across medical and surgical units, strengthened clinical reasoning and care planning, and conducted bedside teaching to build learners’ psychomotor skills and clinical judgement. In my Nursing Officer Intern role at NTY/ MCRH, I reinforced evidence-informed nursing practice and accurate clinical documentation using the Tiberbu Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, while maintaining confidentiality, patient safety, and collaboration with multidisciplinary health care teams.
