At Barbeau Lab, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, UCSD, I processed biogenic silica samples collected during the P2510 oceanographic cruise. I analyzed silica concentrations using UV-vis spectrophotometry and visualized distribution patterns in Ocean Data View.
I also monitored iron incubation microcosms and measured nitrate, phosphate, and silicate concentrations. I assisted with trace-metal clean laboratory procedures, including filtration and sample preparation.
At Chapman University's Marine Invertebrate Lab, I analyzed hermit crab movement with a tracking interface and created Excel graphs comparing crab speed in predator-conditioned and control water. I also tagged and observed owl limpets to investigate their behavior during high tide.
