What I'm looking for

I’m looking for opportunities where I can support students with engaging, well-structured lessons, maintain a safe and productive classroom environment, and collaborate with faculty and staff—bringing my inclusive teaching style and religious studies teaching experience.

I’m a Certificated Substitute Teacher, K-12 and Certificated Substitute Teacher, TK-12 who brings steady classroom leadership, clear lesson execution, and a supportive learning culture to every setting. I’m committed to keeping learning “positive, safe, and productive” while adapting quickly to new students and routines.

Over the years, I’ve built my teaching practice through roles including Certificated Teacher (July 2006 – July 2012) and Teaching Assistant, Religious Studies at UCR (Sept 2017 to July 2023). In these positions, I developed and implemented daily and unit lesson plans, supported diverse learners, administered assessments, and generated and maintained electronic grade books.

During my UCR teaching roles, I also strengthened my experience with online and discussion-based instruction. I designed an online syllabus for “Death,” developed twice-weekly lesson plans with lectures and guided discussions, and helped create a virtual learning environment “at the height of a global health crisis.”

I bring an academic and service-minded approach to education, recognized through honors like the June O’Connor Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award (2023) and multiple graduate research and language grants. I’ve also contributed as a Graduate Mentoring Program mentor and writing group facilitator, and I participate in department colloquium panels and conference convening to support scholarly community and student engagement.
