I’m a Registered Nurse (RN), BSN-prepared healthcare leader with 20+ years of Clinical Documentation Integrity and revenue cycle experience across large health systems and managed care organizations. My career spans CDI leadership and physician documentation improvement, CDI auditing and documentation validation, denial and appeals review, medical review, and case management—always partnering closely with physicians, HIM, Quality, and executive leadership.
In my current role as CDI Regional Manager - Physician Documentation Integrity, I lead the Clinical Documentation Improvement and Physician Documentation Integrity program for the Nevada region of UHS, supporting 7 hospitals and approximately 35 CDI professionals. I manage the ED CDI program at Desert Springs Hospital, develop CDI policies and audit tools with the Regional HIM Director, address PSI/HAC findings with Quality Management, and use tools like the CAC platform to audit and provide feedback to facility physician advisors and the C-Suite. I also collaborate with the CBO for Denials for DRG downgrades and Appeals Systems, analyze Case Mix Index (CMI) impact, and ensure CDI education and feedback drive continuous improvement—backed by CDI platforms and EMR tools such as Nuance CDE-One, Optum360, Solventum 3M, eCAC CDI, Iodine, Cerner, and EPIC.
