I’m an experienced RN and Clinical Documentation Specialist with extensive ICD-10 and ICD-9 expertise, including MS-DRG audits and physician/provider education. I’m a Certified Coding Associate through AHIMA, focused on translating documentation into accurate clinical severity, risk of mortality, and complexity of care.

In my current role at Saint Luke’s Health System, I audit and abstract medical records to achieve complete and accurate clinical documentation. I facilitate provider education to resolve ambiguous, conflicting, or incomplete documentation, using daily knowledge of ICD-10, MS-DRG assignment, 3M Encoder, coding clinic resources, and coding books.

I also bring hands-on clinical and care-coordination experience from bedside nursing, home care, and case management—plus experience handling UR Medicare and private insurance denial appeals. That blend of nursing insight and coding accountability helps me identify corrections needed by coders or practitioners and improve the reliability of final coded records.
