At Fastenal, I replatformed 8+ Fastenal.com modules from an on-prem monolith to cloud microservices, building Spring Boot services and React UIs. The platform moved from monthly to 4–5 releases a month and no longer needs a 1–2 hour maintenance window per release.
I designed and built recurring order scheduling end to end, from the design document and technical specification to the service and scheduling UI. Customers can automatically place weekly or monthly orders from saved templates, with pricing resolved at placement time.
I implemented the transactional outbox pattern to publish order lifecycle events to Kafka, keeping database commits and event publication aligned while preserving event ordering by order ID. I also developed B2B approval workflows and eQuote-to-order conversion for branch-negotiated pricing.
I own the credit card module within PCI-DSS scope, including its tokenized hosted payment iframe and card-data redaction. I lead the 4-engineer Order Enhancements team through delivery, code review and production support, and have mentored interns.
