Software Engineer modernizing scalable AWS systems, improving fraud workflow reliability and accelerating development with AI tools.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Software Engineer with experience building and modernizing scalable AWS-based systems in high-risk, high-availability environments at Capital One. I focus on technical execution that keeps operations stable—especially for business-critical fraud workflows.
I’ve supported migration of complex AWS architecture while maintaining BAU operations across SQS, EC2/ECS, Lambda, and multiple databases with no disruption. I’ve also led database migration initiatives, including transitioning RDS to DynamoDB and decoupling Aurora environments into service-level databases to improve scalability and performance.
I modernized legacy Java services by coordinating repository migrations and converting to Python to improve maintainability and long-term scalability. In production support, I’ve resolved incidents, debugged issues, onboarded new hires, and remediated an average of 3 to 4 claims daily while supporting business analysis tasks.
I continuously look for ways to accelerate engineering work—leveraging Large Language Models to streamline code reviews, unit testing, and debugging. I enjoy collaborating across engineering and business teams, and I’ve built onboarding documentation and led knowledge transfer to improve ramp-up time and productivity.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Supported migration of complex AWS architecture, maintaining BAU operations across 2 SQS queues, 3 databases, 6 EC2 instances, 2 ECS clusters, and 9 Lambda functions without disruption. Led database migrations (RDS to DynamoDB; decoupled Aurora into service-level databases) and modernized legacy Java services by converting repositories and transitioning services to Python.
Researched and implemented a microservice to support faster peer-to-peer money transfers between Capital One users. Built REST endpoints backed by PostgreSQL and validated functionality and performance using Cucumber, JUnit, and Sonar.
Developed a Go-based API for an internal enterprise application database to enable efficient data access and management. Standardized database interactions and implemented RESTful endpoints (GET, GET Many, POST, PUT) to improve performance and reduce runtime latency.
