What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a mission-driven fire/EMS role where I can lead hazardous materials readiness, support EMS quality, and train teams for multi-agency incident response with strong on-scene coordination and public safety focus.

I’m a GS-0081-07 Firefighter/EMT who responds to “medical emergencies, fires, rescue incidents, and hazardous materials incidents,” while interviewing patients and bystanders to determine medical issues and the nature of the emergency. I’ve served as EMS coordinator, ensuring quality control on EMS call performance and program implementation, and I maintain leadership roles across department-wide readiness.

In my current role, I’ve maintained positions as “lead hazardous materials program manager,” primary liaison with neighboring agencies, “lead Rescue Task Force,” and “Active Killer program trainer.” I author multiple course outlines for fire/EMS roles in incident response and helped author and institute a “regional SOP on Active Killer response” adopted by over a dozen agencies covering a population of over 400,000 people.

I also bring leadership and training experience from serving as acting company officer—directing daily workflow, delivering classroom lecture and “hands on instruction,” and acting as an on-scene point of contact for public relations and department interagency communications. Before emergency services, I worked in Human Resources (“Human Resources Specialist/Assistant”) conducting application packet and records reviews for regulatory compliance, and earlier I served in the Illinois Army National Guard in roles including Fire Control NCO and Battalion S2 NCOIC, including deployments to Baghdad, Iraq and Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.
