Bernard Garikayi

I am a telecommunications engineer with practical field experience in wireless, transmission, and IT support, registered with the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers (ZIE). I specialize in installation, rigging, commissioning and first-line fault diagnosis for BTS, microwave, fiber and power systems.

Over the past three-plus years I have installed and commissioned BTS, microwave links, rectifiers, hybrid power systems and ZTE CTN switches across 200+ sites, and conducted site surveys for large modernization rollouts. I routinely collaborate with NOC teams during cutovers to quickly restore service and support large-scale network rollouts.

My background includes troubleshooting and repair of feeder, optical fiber and coaxial cables, technical report writing, site acceptance testing (SAT), and maintenance of telecoms equipment. I also have experience in network support (Cisco, VPN, switching & routing), remote IT support and user training from prior customer-success and IT roles.

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Telecommunications, multiple telecom and IT certifications (including HCIA R&S, Google IT Support, Cisco Network Essentials), and practical certifications in fiber splicing and maintenance. I bring a hands-on, safety-focused approach and a track record of dependable field delivery.
