I lead rigorous impact evaluations and financial inclusion measurement that shape billion-dollar social protection and reform programs.

At the IMF, I oversaw the Financial Access Survey, the institution's flagship annual financial inclusion database covering 190+ economies. I standardized quality assurance workflows, refined indicators through pilot studies, and trained 200+ central bank and government officials on measurement, survey methodology, and data governance.

I coordinated the G20 Data Gaps Initiative workstream on digital finance with the World Bank, OECD, and G20 central bank partners, and received the IMF Spot Award for FY2024/2025 for exceptional delivery and teamwork. I also co-authored an IMF working paper using bank pricing data to estimate barriers to financial access across country contexts.

At the World Bank, I led impact evaluation and policy analysis across East Africa, shaping human capital and social protection programs totaling about $1 billion. My work included Poverty and Social Impact Analyses of Ethiopian macroeconomic reform, welfare and labor-market diagnostics, and large-scale statistical capacity development operations.

Earlier, I led a $500K randomized controlled trial at MIT's J-PAL on private-sector sanitation interventions in Nairobi, from pre-analysis planning through field implementation. Across my work in development research, policy advisory, teaching, and evaluation, I bring rigorous experimental and quasi-experimental evidence to practical policy decisions.
