What I'm looking for

I'm looking for full-time remote, contract/freelance, or hybrid work in CAD, DFM, manufacturing equipment, special tooling, or applications engineering. I value hands-on, project-based work with distributed teams across EU client hours.

I've spent five years at MTU Aero Engines designing manufacturing equipment, assembly fixtures, inspection devices, and special tooling for aircraft engine production. I also owned export-controlled documentation for US and military programs while maintaining regulatory compliance.

At SCI GmbH, I designed manufacturable mechanical solutions for automated intralogistics systems, led feasibility studies for heavy-duty storage systems, and developed additive-manufactured prototypes for the SCI Conveyor NextGen platform.

My career began hands-on in toolmaking, machining high-precision tooling and prototypes through CNC and conventional milling, turning, grinding, and drilling. That foundation informs how I take work from feasibility and DFM through supplier coordination, documentation, and lifecycle management.

I've led engineering teams of up to eight designers and production teams of 15, coordinating multidisciplinary work across customers, suppliers, and manufacturing. I'm open to remote, contract, freelance, or hybrid CAD and DFM work from Western Cape, South Africa.
