Augustina Awudi

I am an experienced and fully qualified registered nurse with over five years of experience working in busy hospital environments. I can work independently or in support of other healthcare professionals while ensuring patient care procedures are adhered to at all times.

In my current role in the General Intensive Care Unit at University of Ghana Medical Centre, I deliver both basic and advanced nursing care to ICU patients. I monitor patient conditions, administer treatment, and collaborate with critical care nurses to provide comprehensive patient care—especially for critically ill patients with conditions ranging from chronic illnesses like diabetes to acute emergencies like heart attacks or strokes.

Earlier, I delivered basic nursing care in outpatient departments and general wards at Advocate Health Care. I also completed a rotation role at St. Anthony Hospital where I provided total nursing care, supervised and mentored student nurses, performed nursing procedures (including wound dressing, IV cannulation, and record-keeping), and supported patient care through monitoring and treatment administration.

I hold a BSc Nursing from Wisconsin International University College and a Diploma in Registered Community Health Nursing from Nurses Training College. I contribute through leadership and professional practice, including serving on an Infection Prevention and Control Team and taking on trainee leadership roles, and I continue to build capability through trainings such as ACLS, Basic Life Support, Phlebotomy, Infection Prevention Protocols, Waste Segregation, AIDET, and Emotional Intelligence in the ICU.
