Arianne Joyce Arizala

I've supported microbial ecology research at UPLB's Museum of Natural History, conducting Leyte cave fieldwork, collecting samples, and assessing microbial communities for biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecotourism.

I extract genomic DNA from cave guano and bat samples, analyze metagenomic data through QIIME2, and isolate yeasts, filamentous fungi, and bacteria using conventional microbiological techniques. I also prepare project reports, training materials, and administrative documents, and drafted a municipal ordinance informed by the project's scientific findings.

Previously, I worked at UPLB BIOTECH on nanobiosensors for banana and abaca disease detection, including virus and antibody work, ELISA, and field sampling. I have also taught science, mathematics, English, genetics, chemistry, and biology across elementary through college levels.
