Angelica Bustos

I'm completing a BS in Biochemistry at De La Salle University, where I've researched water and soil remediation for imidacloprid degradation using a microwave-activated persulfate system.

My research uses Response Surface Methodology, HPLC, OriginPro, and DesignExpert-12 to optimize remediation conditions and analyze pollutant data. I've also analyzed cacao-husk fuel briquettes through FTIR and thermogravimetric analyses.

At the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, I handled analyses of PAHs, dioxins and furans, and volatile organic compounds, preparing standards and extracting pollutants from water and air. At Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology, I conducted RNA and DNA extraction, glycation, DPPH, and western blot experiments.

I'm also a Research and Development Fellow with Project AGOS, supporting water-quality monitoring and bokashi-ball remediation in Paco River. As former Vice President for Academics of the DLSU Chemistry Society, I helped lead science-focused academic events.
