Ana Dobre
@anadobre
Software Engineer at ILM who automated a rendering quality-control task from an hour to 30 seconds.
What I'm looking for
At INDUSTRiALLiGHT & MAGiC (ILM) ‑ DiSNEY, I designed Rust modules for quality control of face- and motion-capture footage. By optimizing data management, cache utilization, and batch processing, I turned an hour-long manual process into a 30-second automated task.
I also developed Python optimization plugins that redistributed 25% of available storage resources, and contributed features to software for real-time environment rendering that received the 2024 Emmy for Excellence in Production Technology. My work at ILM also included real-time shader software and tools for tracking and segmenting objects in video.
At the University of Bath, I developed a C# application for collecting eye-tracking data with the Vive Pro Eye VR headset and used machine-learning algorithms to classify visual stimuli. I’m interested in designing robust system architectures and experimenting with cloud infrastructure.
