I've investigated Thatisin core-peptide modification at the University of New Mexico using phage display, molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression, and peptide characterization.
My work spans PCR, restriction digestion, Gibson Assembly, plasmid construction, protein purification, SDS-PAGE, HPLC, LC-MS, and MALDI-MS. I use ProtParam and ProteinProspector to design and analyze protein constructs, while contributing to experimental design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
At UAB, I synthesized photolabile protecting groups and biodegradable polymers, optimizing reactions and characterizing organic compounds with NMR spectroscopy and chromatographic techniques.
I've also supported chemistry instruction at university and secondary-school levels and worked in quality-focused laboratory roles at AstraZeneca and Lina Oil Mills. My research interests include molecular microbiology, enzyme function, gene regulation, protein chemistry, and biochemical systems.
