At the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, I trained across Value-Added Research, Biochemistry, and Plant Pathology, using extraction techniques, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, biochemical assays, and quality control procedures. I also carried out a project measuring caffeine concentrations in kola, tea, coffee, Pepsi, and energy drinks.
My research has included toxicological studies with Wistar rats, including my undergraduate project on the effects of virgin coconut and avocado oils on benzene-induced hepatotoxicity. I also worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Department of Chemical Sciences, Lead City University, where I carried out biochemical assays and supported laboratory analysis using HPLC, UV spectrometry, SEM, and FT-IR.
