What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can apply rail vibration signal processing and transportation data analysis, build MATLAB/R workflows, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to improve infrastructure safety, performance, and service efficiency.

I’m a rail-focused research and transportation systems candidate with a strong foundation in signal processing for infrastructure diagnostics. My master’s thesis at Technical University of Munich investigated “Time-Frequency Domain Analysis of Rail Vibration Data,” exploring how signal-processing approaches and train speed influence results.

In my current role as a Working Student as a Scientific Research Assistant at Prüfamt für Verkehrswegebau (TUM), I support laboratory rail experiments by preparing rail surfaces, installing sensors such as strain gauges and accelerometers, and ensuring reliable data acquisition. I develop MATLAB scripts to process vibration data and compute transfer functions/frequency response functions (FRFs) from impact tests, then summarize results across different sleeper types for comparative performance evaluation.

I also build transport insights through hands-on analytics and planning work—from collecting and analyzing traffic patterns and travel behavior, to optimizing public transport routes and carpooling services. Across projects, I’ve used RStudio logistic regression to relate crash severity to adverse weather and designed online surveys to capture passengers’ perceptions of autonomous buses, turning data into actionable recommendations.
