Amedu Aaron

My name is Amedu Aaron Oluwadayo, and I am a cybersecurity and IT professional with five years of experience working across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. My career has moved through several layers of the tech and security world, from frontline ICT training to enterprise level Security Operations Centre leadership, and each step has shaped how I approach problems today.

I currently lead a Tier II and III SOC team at Deloitte Cyber Intelligence Centre in London, where I monitor over 50,000 endpoints across EMEA and maintain a mean time to detect of under fifteen minutes. I architect and tune Splunk detection rules aligned to the MITRE ATT&CK framework, lead proactive threat hunting operations that have identified active APT campaigns before lateral movement occurred, and deliver threat intelligence briefings directly to CISOs and executive stakeholders. Before that, I worked with IBM Security X Force in Austin, Texas, where I managed 24/7 SOC operations for Fortune 500 clients, designed automated incident response playbooks that cut response time by 38 percent, and performed malware reverse engineering on ransomware variants including LockBit and BlackCat.

Earlier in my career, I worked with GIZ Germany delivering cybersecurity capacity building programmes to over 300 Nigerian government officials, and at AfriHUB Nigeria, where I trained ICT students and managed computer lab infrastructure, achieving certification pass rates above 94 percent. That period taught me how to translate complex technical concepts into something people without a technical background could genuinely understand and apply, a skill I still rely on today when communicating with non technical stakeholders.

I hold a B.Sc. in Environmental Management and Toxicology from the University of Benin and eight professional certifications, including CEH, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft SC 200, and Cisco CyberOps Associate. I am fluent in English, native in Yoruba, conversational in Hausa, and have basic French.

Outside of pure cybersecurity work, I am genuinely interested in how technology, data, and operational systems intersect, and I enjoy roles where I get to build structure and process from the ground up rather than simply maintain what already exists. I am currently open to cybersecurity, SOC analyst, IT support, and remote operational roles globally, and I am especially drawn to organisations where I can take real ownership and make a measurable difference.
