Al Pitterle
@alpitterle
I am a chemistry student and experienced colorguard instructor.
What I'm looking for
I am a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry candidate at James Madison University, completing my degree in May 2025. I combine a scientific mindset with a passion for teaching and performance.
I create and teach choreography for marching and winterguard programs, collaborating with directors to build competitive, visually engaging shows. I choreographed and taught dance, rifle, and flag for a seven-minute competitive show and provide consistent feedback to help students improve.
As a captain and director, I lead rehearsals, design warm-ups, and manage rehearsal logistics for student ensembles; I also taught a colorguard group of 25+ high school students at JMU Summer Band Camp. I planned and executed chemistry-themed activities for 120 children as a camp program director and handled budgeting and station collaboration.
Outside the performing arts, I prioritize safety and service—assisting guests with zip line harnesses, ensuring lift-system safety, and delivering excellent customer service in retail and food-delivery roles. I led an Eagle Scout restoration project, directing volunteers and enforcing safety procedures.
